I’ve worked a month and a half on this drawing. One of my best yet. I took this photograph on a hike to the top of Han’s Peak in Steamboat, Colorado. He’s wearing my pair of mirrored Premium Knockaround sunglasses, so I thought it would be a cool picture. I set a high exposure and shutter speed. The drawing is done in graphite.

Congratulations JD and Heather!! – Mystery Project
If you’ve been following hints about the mystery project, you wont have to wait any longer for it. A few months ago, I was asked by my aunt and uncle to do a portrait. But this portrait, like I said, was drawn for a very important event in most peoples lives. My cousin got married this weekend. He and his wife are both in the Air Force, so I included both the aircraft that they fly. My cousin flies a C130J Hercules cargo plane and his wife flies an HH60 helicopter. I used photoshop to position the cropped aircraft behind them. I then used the template I created to draw from. I feel like it’s my best yet.
Here’s a photo took when I finished.
I will scan the higher-detailed version very soon. I’d love some criticism, too
Can’t Trust Anyone
So I recently added my dodge dart drawing to my DeviantArt Deviations and to the contest. Every once in a while, I’ve been checking around the entries to see who else has a good chance.
Today, I found my own drawing (the incomplete version) copied and re-submitted by another Deviant. In the description, it said, “This is my art work”. Can you believe it?? And then I read some comments and one said, “daym, same picture i’m copying i think :L but i’ve cropped it so it looks a bit different
really like the unfinished look pretty neat
“. Really?? You’ve got to be kidding!
So I reported the picture and made sure it was clear that the work was mine and had been stolen. Not even borrowed. STOLEN. And you definitely DON’T steal it from the kid who put hours into actually drawing it.
But still, I don’t know how they thought it would be a good idea. When they choose the winners, the winners are required to send in the real art.
So now, I see how risky it is just putting up full-quality or un-watermarked art. I’ll probably have to go through my posts downsizing the pictures to prevent re-use. That kind of thing angers me.
Anyway, tomorrow, I’ll be adding a few doodles and some upcoming art news. I’ve been really busy lately with sophomore finals in only two weeks. Is it just me or are they piling homework on?? Anywhoo, thanks for reading, like me on facebook. Follow for new art.
Obamacare Political Cartoon
I have a weekend school project of making a political cartoon on a world current event. It’s kind of a lucky project. I don’t often get drawing assignments or projects that involve art. Altough I didn’t have trouble drawing the cartoons, I had a hard time getting ideas. My dad suggested Obama carrying the Obamacare suitcase that was bringing him down, and I added the supreme court justice and the scanner.
Tell me what you think!
Doodles
This is a collection of doodles I drew a month or so ago. These were all people I found flipping through my biology book. We all know Einstien (I sure hope so, anyway). Paul Cox is an ethnobotanist. I don’t know who the third guy was. Those two were just people I came across in the book. These were just for practice on drawing faces.
Portrait Drawing for the Keller Family
Recently I did another five-person family drawing, the family of my parents friends. It was done with black charcoal. It was slightly earsier than most have been because there was much contrast. (The picture is at a lake in the son). I will have it up this weekend. My scanner is slightly too small for the paper. The craving had been finished March 23rd.
Another Drawing for a Teacher
I recently finished a drawing of one of my teacher’s grandchildren. However, I totally forgot to upload it. I’ll get a copy put up asap. It is charcoal, on trimmed 8.5×11 paper.
